Getting started
Start with Income — add what you earn each month. Then fill in your fixed expenses like rent, subscriptions, and debt payments. Leave the Actual column blank until you've spent it. Jettana works best when you fill in budget amounts first, then track actuals as the month goes on.
Budget is what you plan to spend. Actual is what you actually spent. Fill in Budget at the start of the month as your target, then update Actual as you go. The section total and footer bars compare the two automatically.
Click + New Month in the sidebar. You can copy from a previous month to carry over your recurring rows, budgets, and colors — or start fresh. Rows marked as recurring always carry over automatically.
Yes — click + New Month and choose to copy from a previous month. It brings over all your rows, colors, recurring flags, budget overrides, and footer highlights. Actual values are not copied so you start fresh.
Card tracking & debt
Click any expense row (desktop) — or tap ≡ → 🎨 Color on the row (mobile) — to open the color toolbar. Go to the Number tab and pick your card's color. Then open ⋯ → Appearance → My Cards legend to build a color legend so you remember which color = which card. Any expense with that number color will automatically count toward that card's debt balance.
Open the note on any Debt row and tap the 🔗 Auto-calc dropdown. Link it to a card color from your legend. Jettana then sums all expense rows whose number color matches that card and fills in the Current balance automatically. When you mark an expense as paid ✓, the balance decreases.
Current is your total balance this month — what you charged to the card plus any carried-over balance. Remaining is what's still owed after payments. When you log a payment in the Payment template, Remaining updates automatically.
Set your Beginning balance in the first column. When you mark an expense as paid ✓ and that expense's number color matches your checking account's color, the Ending balance decreases automatically. You can also type in the Ending column directly to override it.
Templates
Click ≡ on any Income row → Add note, then select the Paycheck template. Enter your pay date, hours, rate, gross pay, taxes, and deductions. Net pay fills the Received column automatically.
The Growth column in Savings auto-calculates as the difference between this month's Actual and last month's Actual. You can also open the note on a savings row to use templates like Performance (enter account value + cost basis), Contribution, or Interest.
Hover the Total Savings amount (in the section footer) to see the split — 💰 Saved vs 📈 Invested, with each account, subtotals, and percentages. Jettana guesses from your account names, so "HYSA" counts as saved and "Roth IRA" as invested. If a guess is wrong, click the Total Savings label to pin the panel, then tap the account to flip it — Jettana remembers your correction. On mobile, tapping the label is how you open it.
Click ≡ on any Debt row → Add note → select Payment. Log the date, amount, type and interest charged. The Remaining balance updates automatically based on what you paid.
Click ≡ on any Subscriptions row → Add note → select Manage. Set a renewal date, cancel-by deadline, and status (Active / Cancel / Renew). The status shows in color below the entry as a reminder.
Rows & sections
On desktop, drag the row and drop it onto another section. To move multiple rows: open ⋯ → Select rows to move, select the rows you want, then drag any selected row or use the section dropdown in the bulk bar that appears.
Exempt behaves differently by section type. On expense rows, the Actual value is excluded from section totals — great for employer-paid benefits or stipends you want documented without affecting budget math. On Checking and Savings rows, the balance still counts in that section's own totals, but is excluded from Total Saved and Net Worth — useful for accounts you track but don't consider yours (a shared account, a business float). Either way the amount shows faded so you can tell at a glance, and an exempt badge appears (stepping aside for the note dot if the row has a note).
Click ≡ on the row → Delete row. You can also use ⋯ → Select rows to delete in the section header to select and delete multiple rows at once. Most deletions are undoable — tap Undo in the toast that appears.
Yes — double-click the section header on desktop, or long-press on mobile. You can save the rename for this month only or all months.
Yes — in any note (row notes or the Notes section), put your cursor on a bullet or checkbox line and press Tab to indent it. Shift+Tab outdents. Pressing Enter continues the list at the same indent level.
Long names fade out at the edge instead of colliding with the row's controls. On desktop, hover over the name to see the full text in a small popup. On mobile, tap once to peek at the full name — tap again to edit it.
Importing & exporting
Go to ⋯ → Import bank statement. Download your statement as a CSV from your bank's website, then drop it into the import panel. Transactions are auto-categorized. Review the table, adjust any categories, and tap Add to tracker.
In the review table, change the Category dropdown on any row individually. To fix multiple rows at once, check 2+ rows — a bulk bar appears letting you reassign all selected rows to a new category in one tap.
Click Export in the top bar. Choose Export CSV to download all months as a spreadsheet, Export PDF to print the current view, or Generate Report for a clean one-page monthly summary you can save as PDF.
Analytics
Open ⋯ → Spending Calendar. Days with spending are highlighted — tap any day to see a breakdown of transactions. Use the section filter to focus on one category, or search by transaction name. You can drag the calendar to compare it against your tracker rows.
Open ⋯ → Spending Trends. Each bar is one month's total spending, and the gold dashed line is your average — so you can instantly see which months ran high. Tap a bar and it splits into colored blocks showing what made up that month, with the full breakdown listed below. Tap ⭐ Peaks to flip the list to each category's highest month — tap any underlined month there to jump straight to those rows in your tracker. If anything looks unfamiliar, the ? button explains how to read it all.
Open ⋯ → Net worth trend. It draws a line chart of your net worth by month (checking + savings − debt). Pick a period with the 6M / YTD / 1Y / All chips, or choose any starting month from the From dropdown. Green dots mean your net worth rose that month; the summary below shows your total change for the period.
Open ⋯ → Growth projection. It starts from your current savings and your average monthly contribution so far, then shows how that could compound over 5, 10, 20, or 30 years — or any number of years you type into the custom chip. Every field is editable — change the starting amount, the monthly contribution, or the annual return (7% is a common long-term average) to try different what-ifs. You can also enter your age (optional) to see how old you'd be at the end of the projection — it's saved on your device only. The solid line is your projected balance and the dashed line is what you actually deposited; the space between them is growth. It only looks at savings — checking and debt aren't included, since they don't grow at a market rate. And it's a hypothetical illustration, not a guarantee — real returns move up and down year to year.

About Jettana
intention · purpose · will
เจตนา (jèt-thà-naa) is a Thai word meaning intention — the quiet resolve behind every action, even when the path ahead isn't clear.
It's also the word that reminds me of my beloved mama.
She was warm, selfless, and giving in the way only a mother can be — always putting everyone else first, always making a way even when there wasn't much to work with. She taught me to be intentional about everything I do, to be a good person first, and to trust that the rest would follow. She never had a lot, but she was always grateful. She taught me that contentment and ambition aren't opposites — it's okay to want more for yourself, as long as you build it with purpose.
Growing up, I saw firsthand how quietly money stress can affect a family. So in college, I made a decision: I wasn't going to let that be my story. I started taking my finances seriously — not because I had someone to teach me, but because I had to figure it out on my own.
Tracking my money is what changed everything — suddenly I could see exactly where it was going and make intentional decisions about it. It's what helped me save for my first trip abroad — an internship in Thailand, the country my mom carried with her long before I ever got to see it. Going there felt like her will becoming mine.
I built Jettana for anyone who feels the way I did — overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and never taught how any of this works. You don't need a finance degree. You don't need to be perfect. And you don't need to wait until you 'have more money' — I used to think that too. The best time to start is right now, with exactly what you have. You just need a place to begin.
This is that place.

Colors & Card Tracking

● Text color — colors the row label; great for visual grouping

🔗 Auto-calc debt from card color — open the note on any Debt row; the 🔗 Auto-calc from card dropdown links it to a legend card. Jettana then sums all expense rows whose number color matches that card and auto-fills the Current balance.
✓ Strike = payment flow — when you mark an expense as paid, the linked card's Current decreases automatically (the charge is settled). The strike color also identifies which savings or checking account the money came from — that account's balance decreases too.
